My stay at Pearls Of Umhlanga was a mixed experience. I really enjoyed the great location with its proximity to the beach and local restaurants, as well as the good swimming pool. However, there were several minor issues with the apartment that detracted from the overall experience, including dirty conditions and a lack of amenities.

Rooms
6.0
The room was nice and spacious, but it seemed to be in a state of disrepair with cleanliness issues. For instance, there was only one large bath towel, and the shower had grime. The mattress was uncomfortable, and the flat sheets weren't well fitted, making my stay less enjoyable.
Service
5.0
I had some disappointments with the service. The staff was unhelpful, and I felt treated more like an inconvenience than a guest. Even after requesting an early check-in, the room wasn't ready on time, which added to my frustration.
Location
9.0
The location was excellent; I loved being within 1 km of shops, restaurants, and the beach. It was definitely the highlight of my stay, making it easy to explore the area without needing to drive far.
Dining
7.0
It was a bit disappointing that breakfast wasn't included, but the dining options nearby were excellent. I had some delicious meals at local restaurants.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities like the swimming pool were enjoyable, but the condition of the apartment itself was concerning. There were issues such as dusty furniture and a general lack of upkeep that really stood out.

6.6/10

I had a mixed experience at Pearls of Umhlanga. The location was fantastic, just a short stroll from amenities and the beach. However, the service and some facilities didn't quite meet expectations, like the long waits for lifts and inadequate pool seating.

Rooms
5.0
My room was clean but not what I expected. I booked a twin bed room with a couch but ended up in a queen bed room with just armchairs. The lack of basic furniture like a study chair was disappointing, especially since the room photos were misleading.
Service
5.0
The service was hit or miss. While a staff member helped me find my lost pillow, the process for checking in was frustrating, especially needing biometric access for security, which was delayed. Communication from the management was lacking.
Location
8.0
The location was definitely a highlight. It was within walking distance to shops and the beach, which made it easy to explore the area. I loved that aspect of my stay.
Dining
5.0
I was disappointed that breakfast wasn’t included, which felt like a missed opportunity for a more luxurious stay. I had to search for meals nearby.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities were decent but needed improvement. There were only six deck chairs at the pool for a large number of apartments, which made it hard to find a spot to relax.

5.0/10

My stay at Pearls of Umhlanga had its ups and downs. While the location was absolutely perfect and gave beautiful sea views, the service left much to be desired. I encountered various issues with my room's cleanliness and amenities, which impacted my overall experience.

Rooms
5.0
The Studio with Sea View was disappointing. The room had no extra blankets, and the mattress was worn out. The lights in the bedroom didn't work, and maintenance never came to fix them during my stay. Additionally, the towels were stained, and there was a major issue with the cleanliness of the place.
Service
5.0
I didn't feel welcomed during my stay. Communication was only through WhatsApp, and I wasn't given clear instructions on how to access the hotel or the amenities. I received a message about extra cleaning fees only after booking, which felt unprofessional.
Location
5.0
The location was one of the best features, as it was conveniently situated close to all amenities and offered stunning views of the Indian Ocean.
Dining
5.0
I didn’t have a chance to experience dining options, as breakfast wasn't included and I had to explore elsewhere.
Facilities
5.0
The amenities were lackluster; there were no outdoor furniture to enjoy those views, and the apartment was poorly stocked. Plus, I noted that the freezer was frozen solid and could not be used. I was also troubled by construction noise nearby.

6.8/10

My stay at the Pearls of Umhlanga had its highlights, especially the perfect location with easy access to the beach and local restaurants. However, the cleanliness of the room was a major downside, with dirty bedsheets and a lack of basic amenities like toiletries and Wi-Fi. Overall, the service left much to be desired, particularly regarding check-in procedures and housekeeping.

Rooms
5.0
The studio was not clean, with soiled sheets and dust under the bed. The bed itself had issues, caving in at the center and making it uncomfortable to sleep. Additionally, some kitchen appliances were broken or missing, which compounded the frustration.
Service
5.0
The service was disappointing, especially the check-in process which required waiting for security to let us in multiple times. The staff failed to provide important amenities like tea and coffee, and housekeeping was subpar. I felt that the management was unresponsive and didn’t address our concerns adequately.
Location
9.0
The location was absolutely perfect, right next to the ocean and within walking distance of various restaurants. It truly was one of the best features of the stay, offering a lovely vibe in the area.
Dining
5.0
There was no breakfast included in the room, which was disappointing. However, I appreciated the proximity to local dining options, making it easy to find meals nearby.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities were generally good, but Wi-Fi availability was a disappointment, especially since it was advertised as part of the amenities. The lifts took a long time to arrive, which also added to the inconvenience.

My stay at the Pearls of Umhlanga was a mix of enjoyment and frustration. The view from my apartment was fantastic, and I really loved the modern furniture and quality appliances. However, I faced issues with cleanliness and some missing essential items like dish soap and adequate towels, which detracted from the overall experience.

Rooms
7.0
The apartment had modern furniture and appliances, offering a great view of Umhlanga. However, the cleaning standards left much to be desired, with rough towels and a hollow mattress.
Service

I appreciated the option for in-room dining, even though breakfast wasn't included, the food I had was wholesome and enjoyable.
